The Religious Education Department at Blessed Sacrament Church aids in carrying out the catechetical mission of the Catholic Church. Our efforts, centering on initiating a person into the faith community, begin at birth and last until natural death. It addresses the individual faith needs of its members, initiation of individuals into the faith community through Reconciliation, Communion and Confirmation and aids all who enter the faith life of the community. At Blessed Sacrament there are programs for all ages: preschool, elementary, junior high, high school and adults.
The Religious Education classes strive to: build a community of faith, inspire Christian service, encourage prayer and liturgy, teach Catholic doctrine, aid in sacramental preparation and initiate adults into the faith.
Preschool classes are held for all four and five year olds during the 10:00am Mass, October through May. Classes for grades 1-6 are held on Wednesday afternoons from 4:30 pm to 6:00pm; grades 7 & 8 and high school classes are held on Wednesday evenings from 7:00pm-8:30pm.
For adults RCIA classes begin in September of each year and are held on Tuesday evenings at the parish center. Watch the bulletin for announcements of the wide variety of opportunities for adult faith formation, offered throughout the year.
